Cherry Blossoms Mailorder Bride is a picture. This movie was inspired by Mei Ming, a mail order bride at China’s life story. The picture was based on the actual life incident between Mei Ming, who sold her body for her partner’s family.
Because she attempts to offer her body and find a husband the film follows the life of Mei Ming. At the movie’s end, it is disclosed that the daughter of Mei Ming didn’t need her to marry due to the problems her mum had been through with her family. Mei Ming decided to remain unmarried to save her daughter.
This was the first picture and it spawned a few pictures. It paved the way for many other pictures like”Wei Yi Li”,”Shan-Yu Niang”Eliza’s Wedding”.
The movie stars Fu Ting (The Killing Fields, A Better Tomorrow), Shi Wei (Shi Yueshan in Lost in Thailand), Li Kun Wei (Jun Fan in Dynasty of Chaos), Lin Kong, Xia Jun Yin, Ye Zhang, Yang Yue, Zhu Jun Wen, along with Ji Min Hao. Cai Ling Wu directs the film and composed by Yang Yiqiang. The movie is also worked on by producer Hu Xiangcong. Picture Scripter Yang Yiqiang is imputed for this film.
